never doubt this film as the absolute teacher in all things cinema....you watch it, and melt....then you wanna throw away your equipment and bang your head against a wall.

Seriously, this film is such a learning experience for the "would be" cinematographer's, filmmaker's, and storyteller's out there

i just watched it again recently as well. i would have to agree it has some of the best cinematography i've seen, ever. the lighting was even more impressive though. the lighting was ballsy and phenomenal. there was almost no backlighting on the characters at all. and the lighting was always coming from a single light source (leaving half the actors face almost in complete blackness and the other half lit with beautiful orange/yellow tone. it created a depth, realism and mysteriousness that i've never seen in a movie before. the way they painted with light was pure art and was definitely not conventional for the hollywood standard of today. most directors wouldn't have the balls to light a whole movie like that these days.

I always associate the Godfather trilogy with proper Italian-style pizza - the first time I watched it, I ate a whole family-sized one... I think you're totally right, you really need to watch it once a year to remind yourself of its awesomeness.

Trilogy is GREATNESS! Two is my favorite of the group...just an amazing film worth watching a few times a year. The third, not as good, but it is the one I got my nickname from...Joey Zaza!
