All Set with this request! Thanks...

Hello. My name is Ted (a loyal, faithful and trustworthy dvxuser :) ) and I am looking for someone in the Washington DC area to do me a favor... tomorrow, Wednesday April 9, 2008.

I am looking at a large piece of camera gear for sale that is in Sterling, VA. (looks to be about 20 miles West/Northwest of the 495 beltway)

If anyone with a truck or van is available around lunchtime tomorrow, I would SO appreciate it if you could run over, check this thing out, let me know if it is what they say and pick this thing up for me and hold it until May 2, 3 or 4th when I come down there!!

I will pay someone to do this for me.

I am assured that this item is as described. If it is, I will make the payment and have you pick this up and hold it for me.

So..... IF you have access to a truck or van and a garage or some place to hold this for a couple of weeks, let me know!

I would totally do this myself if I down there. But I am in New Hampshire and just can't make the trip.

I will be watching my computer over the next few hours and in the morning. You can post here, PM me, email me... doesn't matter. I will contact you and give you the details.

Thanks SO much!

-Ted

How did you have the piece if you didn't buy it? Was he letting you hold on to it? What was it?

Just curious.

Glad you got some help.

Oh, sorry guys! I didn't mean to leave you hanging!!!

I found a sweet deal on Production Hub. It was newly posted and going quick! (They had 2 people scheduled to look at it on Wed., however if I could get there, they would hold the other guys off.) I was going to drive down to DC to get it myself but my wife didn't quite like that idea.

I did about 2 hours of "investigating" their production company and found it to appear very legit AND after talking with the guys on the phone... I felt good about buying sight-unseen and got them to hold this for me until May 3 (when I will take a roadtrip with my wife and pick this up).

WHAT IS IT????

This is what it is....

A 12' Jony Jib with Remote power head (capable of handling 30lbs), tripod, lcd monitor, controllers, remote focus and zoom (actual remote geared controller), power supply, weights, paperwork and "additional parts" (I don't quite know what that is about).

At least $6500 worth of gear at a ridiculous price.... which is why I wanted someone to check this out. BUT, as I said... they appear to be a legit production company with several awards for their work (recipients of 2 Millennium Awards and 1 Aegis Award). They said it works perfectly. They just don't use it and want it to go to someone who will put it to use.

Oh well... I'll put it to use! :)

BTW.... I will be selling my 8' Glidecam jib. Anyone? Anyone? :)

Part of me will miss the shaky ones (more my fault than anything else), but Yes, I am definitely ready:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That thing looks incredible, Congrats Ted!!!

With Bosindy's testimony to shaky jib shots, I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling it here. :cheesy:

Congrats on your new toy!

Believe me the shake was more me than the jib, it works great especially at the shorter levels.

the one time we had trouble Ted had not tightened one of the bolts and it was windy creating a sail affect. Other than that it created really nice shots at a really low cost.

Oh yeah... I forgot about that loose bolt incident!

It does create nice shots. You just have to learn some of the jibs idiosyncrasies.

BUT... I have a buyer at the moment. That is until hey comes here and reads this thread!

(don't worry John the buyer, it is a good jib!)

 Ted

I totally know you are kidding terry, but the guy is trying to sell it so I want to make sure no one gets the wrong idea.

But I did, Terry!

Guess you may have missed that part.

Regardless... I appreciate you banging your bell there!
