Was this done with After Effects?

I may be in the completely wrong forum for this, but I'd really like to recreate some of (what appear to be) the extreme closeups of screen captures of people typing things into google, updating facebook statuses, etc. from this video:

My guess would be that they just recreated their own versions of google, facebook, and twitter in after effects, but is there an easier way to get a clean looking extreme closeup of a screen?

Those weren't screen grabs obviously. They looked to me like macro shots of actual screens. Keep in mind the retina based iOS and laptop screens have a very fine resolution.

I've done gigs before where I created animated interfaces in Flash - but in the example vid, you can see pixels and reflections. I'd say it's closeups of good quality screens.

I'd say it is screens that are recreated, but some of it looks like actual still photos of screens with input text added in post. Hard to tell.

Yep - likely all done in post production in the reference video. But something sort of similar could be done by enlarging the web interface and shooting the screen (on my Firefox, CTRL + Mouse scroll wheel).
