Warner Brothers writing workshop taking submissions.

Why does the submission guideline page say (in step 1) "Original material will not be accepted." Am I missing something? That does not make sense to me.

It makes perfect sense Randall. They want to see how you handle series writing. If your goal is writing for a series you should have an example that shows you can play by the rules and still write a quality script. Doesn't really matter which exact fairly current show you write the spec for. Leave the Barnaby Jones spec at home. It also saves them the hassle of having to call the lawyer every time a premise resembling their spec shows up.

So by 'no original' they mean no original spec shows, not 'no original' script? That makes sense to me. So for example I could submit a sample episode for "Two and a Half Men" but not for a new proposed show "Two and a Half Sisters"?

"So for example I could submit a sample episode for "Two and a Half Men" but not for a new proposed show "Two and a Half Sisters"?" You've got it right. Good luck.
