Tonite was probably one of the coolest nights ever.

it started off at 11 pm..i was comin back from my friends house..and when i came home i saw huuuuuuuuuge 16 wheelers and trucks all over my neighborhood...so i decided to check it out..then i see this truck open its rear and inside the truck...what do i see? but a beautiful bunch of stacked up camera equipment. I was like..hmm maybe Sopranos are shooting more in my area like last time....so i stayed there a few hours.

12 am...they start setting up the scene..and damn these freakin ppl move so sloooooooooowwwww...setting up lights....dollys....deflectors...preview monitors...forreverrrr

When they finally set up the dolly..i see this guy whip out a 50mm lens from this steel case and slap it onto a 35mm camera then load the film in...i was in heaven. lol

1 am..they start shooting...and i start taking fotos of the place and equipment..thank goodness for camera fones..even tho the quality is bad...bare with me its better than notin.

Took them forever to shoot a scene that anybody could of done in the matter of 1 hour..but hey its Hollywood.

So to continue..im standin out there freezing my ass off in a thin hoodie and ppl around me are wearing like eskimo jackets...this girl..i think she was part of the crew..she started giving me funny looks...i didnt kno wtf was goin..but i started talking to her between takes...sooo i found out that her cousin is the director...so yada yada yada..i got this girls cell fone number..btw shes 19...just makin that clarification before you start gettin the jokes on me.

2 am...She then had to go do something back at one of the trailers...then this guy starts talkin to me..hes like "arent you sick of all this?" Im like naaah its not every day you have hollywood shooting a movie on your street...and this guy was like hey lemme show you some stuff we have..so we walked over to the two preview monitors the director was sitting at..and on the other side at the bottom of them..were these Mini DV tape recorders hooked up from the cameras recording to Mini DV so the director could play back the scenes she wanted..he was showin me some scenes of the movie they had so far..it was niiiice.

That was about it....the movie name is August Rush...check IMDB for it.

That's really cool. That's one more WB shoot than I've seen, and I live in LA!

That's awesome man! I always hear stories of people just walking onto sets and striking up convos with the crew.

Congrats on the girl's number :) lol

Thanks for reporting this man! Always encouraging to see stuff like this pop up on the boards.

Yeah it did

HBO was filming Sopranos in the woods of my backyard...i made my dad order HBO for the rest of the year so I can look out for the scenes they shot in my neighborhood.

Real cool stuff dude! Yeah, sets move so slllloooowwww... I was ticked off at the CSI crew when they filmed at our house... slow!

Yeah, I've seen shoots before too. My dad owns a discount store, and atleast once every year or so they pay him 500 to shoot on the street, and to keep his store open. They shot part of that new movie with Timberlake on that street, directed by Nick Cassavetes. I was watching the whole time, might of even been in the movie, lol. I notice people like security are always awesome to talk to, give alot of insides. You can learn alot watching them film, its like film school without having to pay and expecting a job at the end.

in Austin they shoot stuff all over the place. i haven't seen a sighting in a while because i've been at school. i think the last movie i saw shooting was the new Mike Judge movie Idiocracy with Luke Wilson. pretty cool stuff.
