war scene in a studio

Any suggestion on shooting a war scene in a studio? The scene is a dream sequence where a lone solider is on patrol alone at night and gets ambushed by the enemy getting shot at with tracers flying all over the place.

hmm...

obviously, you aren't going to be firing burning bullets 'round, just for ambience, so you're going to have to do something to induce more of a visceral reaction in the actor ( same reason prop guns fire blanks, etc ).

have you considered shooting high-speed, and wavering 'round the playback, to give it a sort of time-drunken effect, that is like dreams?
( sometimes faster, somtimes slower, but never steady )

best of success,
