War Of The Worlds

Pookie, you've come to the wrong place.

:)

Just saw War of the Worlds last week and thought it was really good. Not Spielberg's best, but still a good flick. And, as mentioned already, the van shot was an amazing accomplishment. Cool stuff. But the ending was a little too soft.

I just wish Spielberg would pick a side and stay with it. Is he Pro-alien or Anti-alien? He made us love aliens in E.T., but now E.T. is back and using our blood as fertilizer. You make us confused Steven.

that would be cool to see ET looking aliens kill humans.

BTW, even though i liked the movie allot. i thought the alien creature designs were unoriginal and lame. looked alot like the independence day aliens with that crested head poo poo.

I thought WOW was the greatest film EVER made in the history of films and pretty much all fiction - bar none.

With the obvious exception of "Krull".

Just thought I'd resurrect the thread that refuses to die.

Jamestmather - :) Actually your film, Prey Alone, is one of the greatest shorts EVER made. If people want to see a great flick they should check it out. And, keep in mind, the entire thing was shot greenscreen. Impressive.

Thanks a million and to you PJ for the good feedback - much appreciated.

....and yes, Krull is indeed a stinker

Many thanks,

Prey alone owns my bones

Now - about WOW -

Everybody seems to be talking about how there isn't enough explanation of what's going on and "why'd they do this, why'd they do that"

I think the best thing to say is that this movie is like "The Pianist" in terms of it's just about survival, we don't know what's going or exactly why it's happening - just like the character/s.

I was going to work in a "Pianist" to "Band of Brothers" comparison into here, but I'm not sure how to go about it without sounding like an ass... the idea was that in Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan, there was a definitive objective and we knew all the information, in the pianist it was very open ended and was about survival - and that's what War of the Worlds is all about, survival - not the little details.

True Monte, I guess I am just trained to be fed the whole story without questions...

I was afraid I missed something and didn't get the whole experience of the story

and yes, prey alone rocked my world. Hudson, go watch it!
