Want to try some real colour correction?

Okay you CC demons you. I know how a lot of you like to mess around with CCing. Well, hows about having a go with some raw files straight from a Viper Filmstream?

You'll need a program such as the latest version of After Effects (and perhaps Photoshop I am led to believe) to be able to load these. Be prepared to be completely blown away! They are raw, so they look green and over exposed. However slap After Effects auto levels, and auto colour onto them to bring them back into line, then adjust the curves to see just how much information there is in the highlights!!

Get em here.

Here is a quick colour correction in Shake. Eye colour was changed a little.

Keying the Lego grab right now. It's a 16 bit HD bliss!

A not so detailed keyed image of the blue screen grab. Green screen in this case is an awful choice because many transparent lego parts are green, but green still keys pretty well. Just a single keylight keyer here. It picked up pretty much everything correctly right away:

Let me edit the posts then. It's no surprise the images look differently though. Viper produces logarithmic images, and that also makes me question how Photoshop handles the grabs because I just opened it up and it did not perform any conversions, so I presume it stays in log. Which isn't nice.
I also don't know why Viper adds a green tint to everything. It's easily correctable with 16 bits per channel but still...
