Want to see my Cool Lights LED 600 Speedring?

So far the only one stand solution for the LED 600 is to make your own speedring from scratch as I did. If you have any other speed ring, you can always build your Chimera on the ring, mount that to a grip head and float the C-stand in front of the LED 600 light stand. It works fine, it is just a PITA to setup and move and you are blocking a lot of the LEDs in the panel with the C-stand arm, grip head and ring.

I definitely think its a remote possibility to find a pre-existing speedring that will work.

Someone recently mentioned the idea of velcroing softbox material to the barndoors when they're open and the putting a flozier over the end of the barndoors for a quick setup softbox. What do people think about that? My thinking is it might not be a big enough surface area for some of you.

As far as larger silk areas go though, and with the directionality of the LEDs, particularly the spot, you're likely to get a big hotspot in the center of the diffusion. Like a fresnel / softbox combo where the fresnel was focused into spot mode onto the surface of the silk. Still usable but not optimum.
