I want to rent a chrosziel matte box and followfocus system for my DVX100A. Do most rental houses supply everything needed to mount this mattebox to my DVX? (I've never used a mattebox with the dvx before).

I'm going to rent this for one day for a muisc video shoot, but I'm concidering purchasing this as well down the road so I want to try it out.

Anyone know of a rental house in Toronto that rents these?

I check out sim video, and they list a chrosziel 4x4 matte box for $100 a day and "Follow focus, Arri and chrosziel production mount" for $25 a day.

What about rods and adapter rings etc... hmmm

I'm going to call Sim Video on Monday and find out what they have. In the mean time anyone rented this system in Toronto? From where?

Hey Morgan,

I'm based here in Toronto...I actually know Umar Syed (he's a friend of mine) who I think you've been in contact with.  I also go to Humber College...I've seen you're work on your 2nd year Doc and your monologue..the work is very good.

Anyways back to the subject at hand.  I've been renting a Petroff 3-Stage Mattebox and Chrosziel follow focus from Mike Wilder @ Image Gear who I've been plugging a little bit here at the forum.  He's a small shop business right around the corner from Sim Video actually.  His prices are good and his service is even more fantastic. He's always my first choice on all my projects. He's got both the Petroff and Chrosziel boxes, light weight follow focus' and supports plates with rods...basically everything you need. He stocks a collection of 4x4 filters as well.

hey barry, I just spoke with Michael over at image gear and he seems really cool. It's a great resource for rentals and purchases. Thanks for the info.
I checked out the pics of your shoot and the camera looks nice all dressed up. Are you streaming that video anywhere? I'd like to see it.

Good to hear Mastermind. Mike's definitely a good guy.

In terms of the video I do have it up on my site.  It's in mpeg1 although it's kinda large (52mb - i think?)

I D.P'ed and operated camera.  My friend directed, produced and edited the video.  A quick shout out to my camera and electric/grip team who did a great job.  It was one hell of a grey and rainy day! We were really combatting it at some points.  God bless 1200 HMI's!  ;D
