Want to make online video

[aussie11]

Hi to everyone
Forgive my extreme ignorance at this point but I hope to gather lots of info as quickly as possible. I have an idea in which I would like to make and sell a 'How To' video online.
I can use Vegas well enough to make a decent film for viewing on pc or burning to disc, but I have no idea how to go about making a video that people can purchase online and download straight onto their pc.
I have no idea what format I should save it as, whether I need a program such as camtasia.
Does anyone have any experience in this area that they can pass on.
Thank you
aussie

I'm going to go ahead and answer you because I hate for a person to come for answers and wait this long for nothing... it's deplorable. Maybe you got a PM or whatever but c'mon...

The issue in that case becomes distribution rather than production. Camtasia is a screen capture software that can help you record your screen casts, but the final distribution of the video after encoding to mp4, or quicktime 7, or WMV, or what ever you want is up to you and your web developer (if you have one). Then you need a merchant account (or paypal), a shopping cart (or paypal), and a host of other things (like password protection and stuff) that are beyond the scope of this forum.

PM me and I'll set ya right!

But I couldn't leave you hanging.
