Wally Pfister Interview available on Itunes

Something I just recently realized: The ASC has two podcasts! (why? who knows...)

One is "American Cinematographer Podcasts" and the other is "Conversations in Cinematography"

my guess is that you only subscribed to one, no?

I worked on a really bad b-film wth Wally many years ago, early 90s. He was focused and intense even though the film totally sucked, barely one step above porn (one of those R rated DTV pieces of junk, back when DTV was a bad term. Nowdays, many "real" films are DTV). It's good to see that he ended up on top after having to work on drivel like that.

Something good to tell ourselves as we work on drivel sometimes as well, it's a long journey to the top but it is possible to arrive there if we work smart and hard. A lot of student films, b-films, bad corporate and boring EPK work has gone under my bridge but I have had the opportunity to shoot some work that I am very proud of as well for television and for DVD. As long as you learn something from your bad experiences, they are worthwhile experiences.

That's pretty cool to hear.

Sometimes it just takes the right people working with the right people. He and Chris Nolan make a great duo and probably became more successful together then perhaps had they each gone on their own.
