If the documentary, "Walking to Werner", http://www.linasfilms.com/ comes to your neck of the woods, you should really check it out. I just saw it last night at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle (the filmmaker and "star" is from Seattle) and I was really moved and inspired by it.
In the summer of 2005, Linas Phillips walked 1,200 miles from Seattle to Los Angeles to meet Werner Herzog (who was not home by the time Phillips got there). He shot a majority of the video himself, while walking. The film is ultimately about Phillip's experiences along the way, and the fascinating, or sometimes just sad, people that he meets. It's grueling and harrowing at times, often very funny and, ultimately, beautifully uplifting.
Right now the film is in very limited release - it's being distributed by the Northwest Film Forum, but it seems to be a very grassroots effort at this point. But according to the website, screenings are scheduled for New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Portland (OR) and San Francisco.
Check it out if you can!
