wait for the next gen of cameras?

Right now the big thing (almost necessary for a film like/great image) is to get a 35 adapter for the DOF/focal lengths.
Wouldn't the next gen of panasonics/cannons have the ability to adapt 35 lenses built in?
Do you see that coming out in the near future?

Although 35mm adapters are the accessory du jour, I don't see them as necessary for high quality cinematography using 1/3"chip cameras. It seems unlikely that camera manufacturers will get into the 35mm adapter game because it's still very much a niche accessory purchased by only a small fraction of camera owners. Canon hardly thought it was worth it to make lenses for the XL-1, even though there were huge numbers of XL-1's in circulation. Camera manufacturers have a limited amount of resources for product development and support and typically, they don't get that deep into specialized accessories.

i'm not sure what they could do other than build it like the xl1 design w/ interchangeable lenses. it would be nice if they made it so you can flip the display.

Actually, Sony announced a new HDV camera today that combines a prosumer handheld form factor with interchangeable 1/2", 2/3", or proprietary Sony digital lenses! Who knows what's next? I'm mostly wondering if Panasonic will respond with an HVX-esque camera with interchangeable lenses added.

Panasonic needs to respond to sony's new breed of cameras as soon as possible...the game is changing fast nowdays....and a camera 2 year cycle is a huge amount of time nowdays...personally I was ready to purchase hvx 200 but now with sony's new releases not sure anymoe...especially pmw-ex1 seems like a hot one for what I need....
