i was checkin out the varizoom site and they have a steadicam-like support for $129. anyone use it?

I have no idea whether it's good or not but it's definitely not going to be a steady cam replacement. It looks like something that you can use to give your camera a shoulder mount.

It's not a steadicam at all. It's a single grip shoulder mount and it's pretty flimsy, even when using the grip you should keep 1 hand on the lens.

Yeah that thing does look flimsy. You'd be better off getting the SpiderBrace2. Ordered it last friday morning, got it in the mail today (Monday). Cheaper that the $120+ price tag too.
