Voiceover Compression

Hi,

What would be a simple way to add compression to voiceover done using the voiceover tool in FCP 5? Possible to do within FCP, or would I need to use Soundtrack Pro? I’ve been told it’s a good idea to add compression to get that “voiceover” sound. Any info much appreciated.

You can add a lot of effects including compression using Soundtrack Pro. What exactly is that "voiceover" sound you're looking for?
 
First, you need a deep narrator's voice to start with. Compression won't do that. Nothing will. You can EQ stuff (most radio stations boost the low end of thier DJ's mics). But you can't make ANYONE sound like they have a deep, full voice in post. But you can get a nice, sweet sound from a well recorded narrator with a good narrator's voice.
