Voice Over Effect

I have some audio that I want to use as voice-over narration.

I would like to modify the audio to give it a slight different sound than the spoken audio - to reflect that is the character's inner thoughts.

Any suggestions on filters to try and play with?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Chris, inner thoughts eh, male or female? Depends on what the original sounds like, but not having heard anything, you could try this.

Once you have finally edited it to your video, copy these inner thoughts in sync, to a new separate track on your NLE. Compress this new track at around 8:1,
then put it out of phase with the original inner thoughts. Now mix the 2 together, try different balance levels to taste.

This effect should add some bottom end and you could try 4:1-10:1 compression rates and add some short 'inner thoughts' reverb to the new track
to fit it in with the main overall track. Make sure all the editing is finished first tho and make sure these inner thoughts are still clearly audible.

Cheers.
