vocas mattebox install

Hmmmm, I am confused about the vocas MKII wide angle mattbox install (15mm), if I go to Century site install instructions say one thing and the Vocas site says another. The kit comes with one hard plastic ring and 5 felt rings I am assuming to keep light out. My confusion is whether I am supposed to use these and if so which one. Can anyone help?

Looking at the diagram it looks like you only use the plastic one howvever this leaves a big gap between the lense and mattebox of about 3/4 of an inch and the mattebox falls off becuse ther is nothing for the mattebox to rest against the camera. If I push it all the way back the filters hits the mic and the plastic ring goes completely over the focus ring. Either I was sent the wrong ring or ,a dump question, but am I suppose to leave the OEM shade box on? Auggg!

First question, I am suppose to take the default shade cover off right?
I see ithe plastic ring comes apart now however I do not know what good that is going to do because I have a 3/8 gap between the focus ring and the plastic ring I cannot push it back any further becuse the ambient mic are in the way

The square lens hood on the camera should be removed first, yes.

Is this the one you have?

Make sure the rods adapter is facing the "right" direction. (see page 10 of the manual, part #4)
Yep, Looking at yours it appears that the filter holders are very close to the mic and I guess there has to be a gap so the focus ring does not rub the felt and yank it off. Being the felt is just held in place by a thread , I am worried about it falling or getting knocked off during a shoot. I like the box a lot however I wish they had a better done a better job in the felt area. by the way, since I had to remove the protective cover for the mattbox, can i fit a Clear UV lens over the lense with the mattebox?

Thank for the help!
