Vocas matte boxes

Anybody familiar with these? Seems like they might have only one authorized retailer per country. Jeez.

They fit Century lens adapters, but are about as pricey as Chrosziel.

Re: Vocas matte boxes

Thanks Berry, now that you mention it, I think I did know that. They aren't well advertised.

Re: Vocas matte boxes

That's why I forgot. The Century matte boxes only go to 95mm, whereas the Vocas go to 105mm and can be fitted with french flags. :'(

Re: Vocas matte boxes

The Century DV Matte Box was developed by Vocas exclusively for Century Optics. Something over a year ago the exclusivity lapsed and the DV Matte Box became available under the Vocas name and thru their worldwide dealer network as well.

This past NAB (April 2004) the new MK II DV Matte Box was introduced. It is sold by both Century and Vocas as well. The MK II has a 105mm opening and is available as a clamp-on and a rod supported system. The original Matte Box was rod supported only and had a 95mm opening.

Vocas makes a line of larger more expensive Matte Boxes intended for Broadcast/ production applications on larger cameras and lenses as well.

Re: Vocas matte boxes

Thanks Bill! I am having difficulty finding the MK II DV Mattebox on your site. Perhaps it's not there yet? Is it available yet?
