Visual Language - Schindler's List

That´s absolutley the best so far (the Indiana Jones was my favourite till now).

Thanks for sharing that great work with us John.

I learn a lot every time.

Great breakdown!

I love the simplicity of Schindlers List. There is more simple yet effective visual storytelling in this movie than any other I have seen. Its a shame most of todays filmmakers neglect to tell thier stories visually. Now its all closeups on talking heads.

...interesting notes on parallel editing too

Actually, SL would be a good lesson in how to shoot black & white.

It's not the same as shooting in color, and I've seen a LOT of indy B&W films where they just don't get that.

Excellent breakdown. I must confess that I haven't seen Schindler's List since it's theatrical run. It's a brilliant, but difficult movie to watch. After reading this I'm going to have to revisit it.

The movement of actors is an area where I feel I fall short. This breakdown has a lot to teach me. Thank you.
