Vista Vs DVD Architect

I recently purchase a new Dell Desktop with the Vista OS and loaded my Vegas 6 with DVD Archetect. So far everything in Vegas seems to work and sending the rendered product to Architect is normal up till I hit the "Make DVD" button. The system then stops responding and has to be closed. The movie will play in preview on the Achitect screen. I tried uninstall and reloaded with the same results. Is this an argument between Vegas and Vista and are there any fixes other than going out and finding a Vegas that is Vista compatable?

Vista and Vegas have not yet become 100% compatible. Some in this forum have said they upgraded without propblems but most Vegas users in this forum seem to have one or more issues. Vegas is due for a new build version to 8.0 which may include full Vista support along with 24p and ACH-HD.

Sony apprently does only small bug fixes in intermediate releases, i.e. 7a, 7b, etc. to the current 7d. New features and major overhauls come on the new build versions.

Certainly contact both Sony and Dell as it may be a driver issue or Sony may offer a work around.

I just built a new core 2 duo E6700 and installed Win XP Pro to avoid possible conflicts. I am running Vegas 7d and DVD Architect 4b without a hitch.

thanks, i will call Dell and Sony. I was wondering if the pre installed Roxio was hogging some of the defaults, but haven't found any switches yet.
