Viral video Pricing

alright so I have a possible add campaign coming up where I would be doing a viral type of advertising. The idea is to have a video that will get people to start immitating the joke and everytime they do they think about the product. The company is starting up in the beer buisness, but coming on strong. With an idea like my add campaign, they could realy increase sales a whole lot.

Now I want to set up a pricing formula that makes it a sort of pay per view thing so they always pay for what they get. If the add gets no views they only pay the minimum, if its huge they pay a lot, its proportional.

so have any of you ever done this or know a good way to price this fair for everyone.

Thanks guys!

Don't price just based on your straight forward service, the creation of a video. This video will generate money for the company, therefore you can charge much more. In other words if you charge them $100 and they earn $1000, your service is worth $900 to them.

Setting your price based on results is not a good idea either. Their end result should not be directly tied into your work. Then you are liable for whether it flops or explodes even though there may be circumstances beyond your control (the company fails to execute or is in the wrong market).

I would also suggest to not do a "pay per view" type of deal. There are many things that could cause the video to not become a bit hit, and it would be unfair to you to not get paid much at all for your work.

The way I see it, if it does become big, obviously the company will want to work with you again, and so will other companies. Just make a good product, get paid a decent amount, and everything will work out.
