Vintage Lens Comparison - Superspeeds / Super Baltars / Kowas

[bobhope]

Had some free time the other day and did this quick and dirty test. I'm sure a lot of the info here is old hat to some users, but for others it might be informative. Full res chart tiffs are available for download on the blog. This isn't mean to be a comprehensive end all and be all, just a quick look at a few of the more popular "vintage" lens choices out there. Skip to the end to see the flare tests.

Enjoy.

I doubt it, but I did read back at the time of the original TV series that they named the character after the lenses. Those were very popular on old Mitchells.

First professional camera I was AC on was a blipped Mitchell with the original Baltar lenses.

AAAAAh-HAH! Brilliant!

Made funnier by the thought that Lord Baltar was indeed named after the lens!

[huge, HUGE Battlestar Galactica fan here.]

...The Super Baltar flare looks great in the demo video linked in the first post.
