Vimeo and usage

Guys just had a long discussion with the vimeo folk, it seems using them as a service is out of the question. So if you upload a video (using a plus account) there, provide a link for your client charge them $100 for that link, it violates their terms.

I guess in my mind if I charge $250 for web conversioning I'd have to shave off a few dollars for Vimeo to make it legit? I dunno... Guys you tell me if you fully agree with them?

I like the fact that Vimeo hasn't turned into wasted uless crap like Youtube/Myspace and Facebook. Whatever they're doing is fine with me.

It's their site, they can do whatever they want. And to a point, I can see why they do this. They're trying to be the flickr for video.

I'm curious why you would charge your clients to view a video (I don't know your business, so I'm just curious).

Ohh well the charging would be based on them using the embedded tag not just for going on my vimeo page... I just wanted your opinions, so a video version of flickr huh?

Hmmm interesting.

i have no idea what you guys are talking about. If you're saying that vimeo doesn't want you charging clients before you give them a vimeo link, then my answer to that is why the hell are you telling vimeo about it?

Again not sure I understand though.
