Viltros, BMPCC 4K and Canon EF

Hello, I am trying to post in the BMUSER forum, but the site is not working propertly.

I bought a Blackmagic PCC 4K, a Viltrox EF M2 II, and a Canon 24-105 IS II. Autofocus buttom in the camera is not working, I already updated the Viltrox firmware. Is this a common issue? should I use a different adapter or lens?

The autofocus button function in the BMPCC is important for me, would you know and adapter that works for sure?

Best regards

For what it's worth, the AF 'press button' performance - even with native lenses - isn't too good so don't expect too much, IMO.

You won’t get AF or IS with the Viltrox on a BM camera with current firmware. Only Metabones will enable this but the AF is to say the least ‘crude’ . It will establish focus (after a bit of hunting) but it won’t do CAF. Worth it though for the IS which is more useful IMO.

After recently testing the BMD PCC6K with native Canon lenses, I wrote that essentially its a manual focus camera. The AF is useless for almost any real world situation and I tried it on all kinds of subjects.
Stationary camera and subject, it's kind of usable, sort of. Any movement of camera and or subject, forget it.

Yep - the time it takes to acquire focus is longer than you can do it manualy.
