Viewing HVX Footage in Post - Monitor, CRT, LCD

To clear things up a little. 720/24p is an acquision format not a display/broadcast format. 24p/pn is a convenience that allows you to capture and edit without having to deal with the other 36 frames that make up 1 second of this standard which is actually 720/60p. This feature is designed primarily for a film out and secondly to conserve space on p2. Working from a 720/24p sequence your card(aja,bm,etc) will put out a 720/60p stream the same way the HVX does via the component jacks. As far as I know the only native 24p display device is film.

I got a Toshiba 32HLC56 LCD monitor. (32") This is the monitor equivilant of an HDTV that was recently top rated by Consumer Reports. It is running around
$600 on sale. I used a DVI cable out of my Imac with an HDMI adapter. SD does not look great, but HD looks incredible. I had to change a setting in the menu before it looked good (not sure what it was). Also takes component so you can plug the cam straight in if you need to.

Mainst you use this as your computer monitor too? it that what you where referring to the HD? if not hows the pic for the computer image?

FWIW, the first shoot I did with the HVX was edited with the newest FCP system last year and they used a 30 inch Cinema Display that looked amazing right after capture. I'm not sure what card they had installed though.
