Viewer / canvas brightness difference

When I look at / play my footage in the viewer it looks normal but when I play it in the canvas it's brighter (only when actually playing). Why? Will it stay bright when I export it?
 
Ya know...

I've had this issue too. Bugs the mess out of me!! Not sure it is happening right now. I'll dbl check and let you know. But yes... QT handles gamma different than FCP. SO depending on what monitor you watch it on AFTER you get it out of fcp it WILL look different.

Hence, always monitor on an external monitor.

But the viewer and the canvas are both in FCP and they still look different. Also when the canvas is paused it look ok, it only brightens when played.

Well...

The VIEWER is only a proxy... the Canvas is the actual... but that doesn't really help you.
