Thanks Rick, I appreciate you checking it out. I agree with everything you said, Im close to finishing the newer shortened version. Im still having trouble getting the explosion decent even with the action essentials. I do admit compositing is by far my weakest ability. But I got the muzzle flashes much better with your advice. It's amazing how the details bring it to life. and give it a real element. Thanks for the link.

That's the thing with compositing, the more you do it, the better you get. The biggest mistake I see is on light based effects people not putting that light into other areas where it would be reflected and such. I am constantly finding new things to affect. :) The other thing I do, I find another piece of released video with a similar effect and study it frame by frame. Many times, you find that some directional blur or noise REALLY helps meld things together better.
 
your on the opposite end of the country, that sucks. I have an awesome old military instilation I would love to show you. I have a hrd time going cause I never want to leave. Not to mention I get overwhelmed with ideas on how to use all the stuff. I dont know if I mentioned, but I have access to a duece and half anytime I need it. Just waiting to put it to good use:)

Liked it but the use of the woodland camo pattern really killed it for me. That pattern didn't come into use until about 1981-82. I oughta know since i was in the Army right when they transitioned to that uniform. Perhaps you had trouble getting the tiger striped pattern? The viet nam leaf pattern?

Other than that it was not bad at all. Good job.
