VidLed??

Yeah, I know. Just cant do an external battery. I am a run and gun one man band. I need something compact that I can just whip out without any fuss. Will just have to wait for Vidled production to get back up. Now, if that Z90 was half the price I would have one in the bag already.

I've run and gunned plenty of things while using an incandescent light with an external battery. Use a battery belt. It's about 10 pounds, fits around your waist, and ... well, that's just how it's always been done.

z90 you'll still need an external battery of some sort, same with the vidled unless you go "deluxe". That and the micro (which I think we can say isnt a good idea) are the only two lights I know of with batteries on board.

eta - yeah what Barry said. At full power the zylight pulls 30watts anyways. Its practically like using an incandescant in that regard. Its just cooler.

Barry, what incandescent light have you used? Do you use diffusion on it? I've got the bescor VS65, which I've used for some wedding shoots. The battery (yes, feels like 10 lbs) doesn't last me very long, maybe a little over an hour. Also, it can be harsh on the subjects eyes, but then again I haven't tried diffusing it.

I like the idea of the Vidled lights being able to be powered by HVX batteries. And it'd be nice to not have to carry around that huge battery pack.

I just got this email response from Vidled:

"Unfortunately it's pretty much status quo: we expect new products in about 4
to 6 weeks. We did receive sample housings, but there were some errors, so they
needed to correct those now.
All new housings will be only BLACK."

Anyone know where I can get a used vidled?

Every once in a while one shows up on the marketplace.

Good to hear they will be black from now on. Thats pretty cool.

Very frustrating, VIDLed has been saying this "4-6" weeks for 4-5 months. I tried the Litepanels Micro, it's built like junk, VIDLed is missing a big sales opportunity in the market. I have had three run and gun docs in mixed lighting that the VIDLed would have been perfect for but I can't find one.

Urgh!

Dan

Yeah, it's been frustrating for me too; well, it would of been frustrating if I weren't so darn busy anyway.
We're about 4 to 6 weeks out right now; "HEY, WAIT A SECOND, YOU'VE BEEN SAYING THAT FOR ^ MONTHS!!!!"
Indeed, and all I'm doing is passing along the news from the one component manufacturer....which I might add, is now being replaced!!!

Gah! People want to give you money!

Btw, will the new ones be the same price?

Okay.. Found that thread and deleted the "Micro" out of my wishlist ;) The Vidlight still says the same.. Why aren't you more transparent about whats going on, you vidlight guys?

Perhaps this is being talked about elsewhere, but I just check the VIDLED site and now it says " NO ITEMS WILL SHIP UNTIL END OF SEPTEMBER!" This is ridiculous.

I tried calling their number. "Can't be completed as dialed".
Sent an email and got no reply. I also sent vidled a PM, but no response.
Have these guys closed shop for good? What's going on?

vidwerk.
