Videos for pro presenter/macs

Im probably in a unique situation, I use a PC with Vegas to create videos for a Mac and pro presenter. I have tried a variety of render settings but it just seems like I can't get a decent quality video thats a decent size. When I was making videos for presenting programs on a pc I could create a video that was a couple hundred mb and it was good enough. With the Mac if it's not 5gb or more (only about a 60 sec video) it looks horrible.

I have to present on a Mac because that's what our church has in tech booths and I create on a pc because that's what I have. I have a Mac available to create on, but it's a shared machine so it's harder to access.

Any advice?

Without knowing anything about your video -- how long it is, how big the frame is, what the frame rate is, and how you rendered it -- it's hard to say what a "decent" file size would be.

For Mac viewing, I usually render as AVC -- Sony or MainConcept. I give it a higher bitrate.

Tried it as an mp4 with the highest bit rate. Looked great playing through windows media player and horrible through QuickTime. It gets. Ton of horizontal lines going through it.

I've had both mp4 and mpeg. Both cameras I use record in different formats. I've tried all the mp4 render templates that are listed. I'm sure the solution is simple, unfortunately I'm just ignorant on most things video related.

I've had no problems giving a Mac person mp4 files done with the Sony AVC Internet 1280x720 30p preset.

Looks like that setting is going to work. I rendered a short piece of a video and it looked good. Doing the whole thing now. You might be my new hero lol.

Rs170a, that worked great! Thanks for the advice. It's a decent file size, looks great and renders in a decent amount of time. So many templates on there to choose from, so this was helpful.

I work with Sony Vegas and Macs daily, and have exported for pro presenter, mp4 should be compatible, also logically anything MOV should be compatible.. I even rendered a video with transparency for a pro presenter project (pro P was running a LED wall) used MOV with alpha, I believe it was the uncompressed or animation setting in the MOV options in Vegas.
