I am kinda of new to this (resumes).

What kinda of things would you put on your resume? What type of format do you use? How do you categorize your info; Meaning : Work Experience, Internships?

Currently here is my format:

-Objective
-Experience
-Volunteer Experience
-Awards
-Education

I want to fix up the way my resume looks and I am looking for a new format as well. Where should I put Internships? Paid Experiences? PA assistant experience? Etc..

I am looking foward on how many of you do yours and your inputs.

Keep it simple and to one page. When I was an PA in LA, I had to go through hundreds and hundreds of resumes. The people who had the most experience in the industry simply categorized their work by department and then listed the projects below.

However, I am partial to listing your education at the top (if you went to college), then listing your credits like this:

Production Experience Highlights

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - Paramount (feature)
producer, writer, director
Academy Award (nominated for best picture), Golden Globe (won for writing)

Something along those lines...then at the bottom (if you have space), create a profile that lists some of your strengths:

- Started Production Company that produced some of the biggest box office hits in history
- Extensive knowledge of 35mm and HD motion picture cameras
- Excellent Kermit the Frog impression

And then finish it up with "References and further experience available upon request"
This really helps you keep it to one page. Good luck!
