Video with Google Maps

Been doing some tinkering with video and google maps...think this could have some very neat applications.
I am curious to see what my friends at DVX user think, before I start building it out.
I was thinking it would be great for individuals to have there own video/map.
Kids "Here are the animals where I live...blah, blah or real estate applications, or the education applications.
Would also expand the application to also show video and text and images and hyperlinks...all co-related.

Thanx guys for your feed back on this.

Pretty cool, that has some very neat possibilities.

On a side note, I'm going to the beach now because that whale video.

Pretty cool... this would be great if it could be made to be a location search engine.

In other words, if you find a cool location for film, you create a description and submit it along with a video of that area. Other film makers looking for somewhere to film a shot can then type in keywords and watch videos of locations matching their search. Google maps then shows you exactly where in the world it is and how to get there. Intergrate Photo's into it too since this would make it easier on bandwidth and more viable for users to add to it. Maybe have photo's appear first with the option of videos if available.

Documentarians could really take advantage of this. Perhaps exclusive interviews from around the world, like opinions of the state of the world, could be documented from each country.

I had recently shot a ton of footage for our local tourism association, was thinking about approaching them with this application....
Wouldn't be hard to modify if for alot of things...but how to monetize it...google adsense?

Thanx for the feed back guys!!!

A solution might be that pay for users have access to all the video and high res photographs on the site whereas none paying users can only see low res photographs. This would be a viable idea given that people understand and respect that owning and maintaining a website with alot of video on it can be quite costly.

My experience with web apps however is that you need to make it widely accessable and give people something they truly need and will regularly use. Going back to the location idea, stuff like having a shoot tool for a film that could sync with a shooting script to show cast and crew when and where filming of certain shots would take place, as an example. Make it free for the first 6 months and then charge later perhaps... these things are very hit and miss and unfortunately most often miss lol!
