Video upscaling/enhancing software

Can anyone recommend? Free would be nice, but any recommendations appreciated.I have a few clips for a doc that need to be upscaled/cleaned up. Some SD footage from Zoom and smartphone. I tried Topaz and it's pretty good but seems to oversharpen everything. Thanks

Have you tried Fusion from Blackmagic? I can't remember if upscaling is supported in the free version or not, and the best algorithm might vary per clip.
