VIDEO: Two Guitars

Cool; but kind of like playing piano ?

Bass and Treble ?

I'm not dumbing it down; it's super impressive but the secret is there

Yeah, he's having to make use of open tuning and capos, but he has to be oh so clean in his attack on the strings.

Suffice to say, I never saw Eddie do that.

I like his style. it's probably very piano orientated too, but it's nice to translate that stuff sometimes. Him and Kaki King do some cool stuff by tapping and open tuning. I wish i could play like that.

I saw a video with Steve Vai playing this crazy triple neck guitar...

Totally crazy!

I saw him do it live with the David Lee Roth Band in 1986 when they were promoting Eat 'em and Smile.

Yeah, he's awesome!

To answer why not, there's different sounds that go with it. A piano sounds like a piano--an electric guitar can sound like anything. Taht's the fun part. it can sound like an 8 bit processor and play mario music, or it can be a overdriven guitar, or it can be a sitar if you try hard enough and have a lot of effects.

alternatively, you can make a guitar sound like a guitar, and translate other instruments into it. Like check out this criminally cut short clip of buckethead playing a guitar like a banjo:

It's neat!

by the way, if you guys aren't well versed in Buckethead yet, you should be. He's pretty much the most amazing guitarist out there right now, despite his track record of film scores.
