Video Ts Files

I have a SONY HANDYCAM DCR-DVD92 NTSC. It records to a MINI-DVD and writes a file called a VIDEO TS. This is coming up as a unsupported format when I try to import it to my Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. WHAT? Is there any way to convert these files to a supported format. I have a lot of old footage that I would like to use but can't find my way around this format obstacle. Can anyone shed some light on this or direct me in the right direction. Sure would appreciate some help....
Thanks,
David Bruno

It should be a VIDEO_TS folder, and in that folder you should have .vob files.

Use DVD-RW, finalize the disc on the camera, copy the files on your PC, and when you want to add to the disc, because it is RW you can unfinalize it in the camera again. Then you won't waist a ton of DVD discs.

I'm thinking the camera probably only records one stereo audio track, so if you rename the .vob files to .mpg, CS3 should be able to conform them.

When it opens, it's gonna say it's offline, but after conforming it, you should be able to scrub it.

I've had to deal with dvd video_ts folder a lot. The only program that can natively work with the VOB file from the folders is Sony Vegas AFAIK. Most editors can bring it in but can't deal with the audio so you will have just video and no audio. Currently I work on a mac system using premiere and final cut. I use a free program called Mpeg Streamclip

I tried a conversion program to an AVI file but as you mentioned the audio file was unsupported. Would capture work for this type of file? Or am I going to experience the same thing?

Use DVD Decypter to DEMUX them :) VirutraldubMod of the video and beSweet for the audio it is a difficult workflow to times but its flawless

Mpeg Streamclips

Mpeg Streamclips

Well, I must say; THANK YOU. The mpeg streamclips works fabulously. The Beta version is the one that worked though. Again, thanks for the help.

Whoops, after downloading the streamclips software I had to use a older version of quicktime and now I can't seem to get around keeping this older version and having a newer version seperately. How can this be done?
