video track preview question

hey all...I have premiere pro at this point and just finished shooting a concert I have to edit which used 6 dvx100s for 6 different angles. Now, it is my understanding that AVID Xpress Pro has the ability to preview up to 4 video tracks simultaniously instead of just one. This would spead my editting job up tremendously. Problem is, I dont have AVID Xpress Pro, I have Premiere Pro. Does anyone know what feature I am talking about on AVID, is it true? and is there something similar on Premiere Pro? (fingers crossed)

Re: video track preview question

I might be misunderstanding your question but if you are talking video tracks in the timeline you can add lots (not sure how many - I have had as many as ten ) Just right click a track and add tracks.

If I am misunderstanding your question sorry

EDIT: This is not what you are asking, sorry. :-[ Dual view is all I can get but someone may know a trick

Re: video track preview question

i know i may not have explained myself in the best way possible so i'll give it another crack.

i need to be able to preview multiple video tracks at the same time. i have heard that AVID allows you to do up to four. for instance, i take 4 camera angles from the same sceen and run them at the same time, i want to be able to monitor them at the same time so i can easily know when to cut to camera 2,3,4 etc. not just previewing a clip one by one and attempting to assemble them seamlessly.

i am told that xpress pro can do this, i wanted to see if anyone knew if premiere pro had this capability. i have searched the menu structure and cannot seem to find an option for that...but perhaps someone out there does

thanks in advance guys...and gals

Re: video track preview question

No - you can not simultaneously preview multiple timeline tracks in Prem Pro (unless you P in P'd them all).

Can not see how that would be achieved in AVid NLEs either but who knows...
