Video slows down during capture

Hello Everyone,

I have the weirdest problem.

When capturing video/audio, the video starts off at normal speed and then slows down, the audio is also distorted.

I've tried it on Premiere 6.5 and Premier Pro 1.5 and have the same problem.

Any idea what this could be? I've been capturing for years without any problems, so I'm stumped as to what could be happening.

Camera - Canon XL1
Software - Premier 6.5 and Premier Pro 1.5

Any thoughts you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Peter

P.S. I have no problem capturing with consumer products like ULEAD and Windows Movie Maker

Wow. I guess no one else had ever had this problem.

It's really amazing. Re-installing the program does nothing. You open Premiere normally, then go to "capture", and the video and audio plays iiiinnn...sssllloooww...mmmoootiion.

Any thoughts you have would be helpful. If not, I'll have to scrap Premiere entirely and move over to AVID. I can't believe this is happening after 5 years with no problems.

Thanks in advance.

Peter
