Video Proposal

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for a bit of advice and guidance from the community. I have contacted a client on forming a video team and they are looking for a proposal to be submitted and this will be my first.

What do you recommend to be in the proposal then the obvious? Any advice or tips?
Also, I have been looking for samples of proposals for video, do you know where I can find some to see the format?

Happy Christmas-Eve!

You'll just type up what is to be made, why, how, and how much.
It's just a written version of what you have discussed. Don't template this.

You need to give a little more detail. You said a client, well what do they do and what do they expect you to do in this team. What are the AOR's of each party and who gets paid and how do you get paid and when do you get paid. Areas of responsibility are very important to have laid out as best that you can so there are no surprises that end up biting you down the road.

You need to know what you need to do and what they are going to do so everything gets covered and done timely. Anything that can be misunderstood will be and it will always cost you time and money. This sounds like a limited partnership where they bring clients and you do the work. The way that you said team sounds like its not a one time deal so we need more info to fully understand how to help you.

I would also add (after getting hosed in the past) to specify how many hours of editing for what cost. 10 hrs @ $150, etc. When they make decisions that cost you time (we now want all the 57 graphics to be both in pounds and kilo grams) that this is costing you time, and THEM money. CLEARLY say, you have 10 hrs of editing, after which you will be charged at normal rate. In this past project of six 1/2 educational shows, had I put this in the contract I probably would have ended up charging $12K more (for work that I had to do anyway)....Live & learn.
