Video Properties / Diference between 8bit and 32 bit

Hi,

i have the possibility to change the video properties for example to 32 bit full range or let vegas choose the properties automatically for me.

The automatic way vegas choose 8 bit for my m2ts files. But i can change it to 32 bit.

I can see that the result is a little bit darker and has more colors.

If my final result will be PAL, should i work with 8 bit or 32 bit? What would you suggest when i want to have maximum quality?

32bit is better for color correction (less banding during intermediate calcuations), but vegas behaves differently in that mode (decompresses Y'CbCr=> RGB using different , full range values instead of video legal range). The only way to color correct properly in this mode is to use a calibrated external reference monitor
