Video Production Monitor

I am looking to buy myself a video production monitor for my short films. After doing some research I have found 2 models that fit my price range: the Ikegami TM9-1 and the JVC TM910. Does anyone have any opinions about these two models? Also, should I look into buying one off Ebay or is this the sort of equipment that should be bought new???

Hey Mike,

The JVC and the Ikegami are the very same monitor. I have the JVC at home and we have a bunch of the Ikegamis at work. I highly recommend either one, although the JVC is usually a little less expensive.

As far as Ebay goes, I think you can get a good deal if you are careful. Be sure to ask questions like, "Is there anything wrong with it" and "does it have any burn in". As long as the seller is honest, you should be ok.
