Video output to Firewire

Is it possible? Like to display my desktop to a firewire output, so I can capture it in DV rack?

I've yet to find such a function..... I'm running XP pro

hmmm, not sure about that, I think some TV tuner cards allow for your display to go out. However this always looks like crap because NTSC is so much lower rez than any monitor rez. I know for the mac there is a program called snapz pro that will record quicktimes of your desktop... I'm sure if you look on download.com or versiontracker there are similar PC apps. That way you could capture video of your desktop at higher qualities. Then you could go into your editing software of choice and cut out thru firewire!
