video/multimedia production contracts

Hello All, I have recently received my first serious shafting in the independent contractor world. I trusted some clown who hired me to put together two man prod crews for his webisode based production. He is nowhere to be found and im out many thousands. I am looking for a legitimate video/multimedia production contract. I own a llc and need something more than an 'independent contractor agreement.' there seem to be a decent amount you can buy online, but im not sure if there legit.

Any advice or help in this issue would be greatly appreciated.
 
Contracts just lay out what everybody should do, people without honor wont honor them anyway. Just be careful who you deal with and when they get hinky, you need to see whether you want to keep going. Take the guy to small claims court (if under 5k) or regular court and get some legal action there. There is no court that can mandate people to do anything fairly - thats why its called the legal system and not the fair system. Keep your LLC that will protect you from problems personally, but don't expect anybody to be fair or reasonable beyond where they choose to draw the line, including yourself, LOL.

Thank you for the response. I am currently suing this person in small claims. I feel a written contract is one more piece of ammunition that can help justify my claim if and when similar issues arise in the future. So I ask again, is there anyone who knows of a website, or has a template video production contract?
