Not sure where to post this, but i thought i'd start here. everything looks fine on my LCD computer monitor while im editing and when i view MPEG exports. but when i try to play it back out of my computer through my home netowrk onto my TV it looks super blown out. If i play the same exact file from the HDMI output of a laptop directly into the TV it looks fine again. The video source im using in my home theatre setup is an LG networked BD player. if i play the file from that either with the network from my desktop computer, or on a USB drive inserted into the BD player, it is blown out again. the LG is feeding the TV through a Denon video receiver, all HDMI.
So the question is, why does the video level look fine straight off a laptop, but like crap through this other chain into the same TV. I dont seem to be able to change or adjust any video levels on either the LG or the Denon. Any thoughts on this? It is annoying to not be able to edit something and then go into my living room and just watch it on the 46" plasma without having to hook up a laptop. And it makes me wonder what my video levels really are when I am outputting for a client. btw, there seems to be nothing i can do to the TV itself to make it look better when using the LG/Denon chain, which looks FINE with bluray movies and regular TV.
thanks
