This next hypothetical situation will explain my question.. Say i take 2 shots of myself doing some action in seperate takes with me on say the left side of the screen and again with me on the right side of the screen with the same camera placement and ange for each.. How to i combine the to so i might look like im interacting with myself..?i have tried before and either only one shows up or when i use the parent tracks and the different types of composting..(multiply, add, subtract,) all i get is a black picture or just one of the clips... i ask this question b.c i have been wanting to combine seperate moving videos into one picutre..any help would be great!

All you have to do is crop the clip on the upper track.

You can do this a number of different ways. You could use a Cookie Cutter. You could use a Bezier mask. Or, you could simply use the pan/crop tool.

will this create a line down the video or are you suggesting that i cut out the figure i plan to put in the new video? and if so do i have to do this by keyframes? (use the keyframes to follow the movement?)

Neither the cookie cutter nor the standard pan/crop will create a line. The Bezier mask could if you apply the mask and other effects in the wrong order, but I would make that your last option.

im not if u answered this question with your responce but what do i do if i want to cut out a person doing some moving action and place that peson in a completly different video.(like completly cut them out the original video) is this possible?

I think you're thinking about chroma-keying now or green-screening. You could rotoscope it out but that's going to be extremely tedious. To put the one guy from that video in the context of another you usually need to shoot the guy with a green-screen backdrop which then allows the computer to mask out the background, allowing you to superimpose the image onto another video. You may want to read up on this.
