Video Editing computer for $800

[olivermellan]

I am in need of a good editing PC. budget $800.

Would mainly like to run Adobe Creative Suite 4. Would also like windows XP.
Does anyone have a good setup that they built and could share with me,
or a pre-built system that would meet these criteria.

thanks

what kind of footy are you wanting to edit? avchd, hdv, dvcpro hd?

You should check out newegg for starters. there are quite a few pretty hoss computers in that price range...

As much as you may hate it, you may want to consider vista so you can take advantage of more than 3 gigs of ram. This laptop here has 6 gigs of ram and is running vista 64. I've been happy with it all in all so far...

Here's a couple around 800 that I found real quick... Of course, expansion slots won't be too ample with these, but...
