I've caught a few articles on the net lately about apple, amazon, and others trying to offer a video download business model and was wondering if anyone had thoughts on how they might use such services to market and distribute their own content.
There are so many great services for indie musicians to sell their products in the internet and the range of options for indie film/video hasn't gotten any closer than on the hroizon until now. Do you think these servies will lower the cost of entry bar and offer avenues for indie video projects to sell direct to mass markets? Does anyone have thoughts on what the first offerings will be from Amazon or Apple will look like and when they might open up the their services outside a studio system?
Sorry if I'm kinda long winded, but I am interested in how/if people on this form are thinking about all this potential change. Below are a couple of articles I've linked to below go into this background material if you're interested.
