Video clips inside title lettering?

I want to put together a short trailer for our film project and though it would look cool if individual letters (spelling out the title) appeared, in large scale, then zooming out followed by a dissolve to the next letter, etc. I'd like to fill the letters with video (a matte?) and have both the letters and video zoom out at the same rate. Is this something I can do with Premiere Pro 1.5 or do I need to try After Effects? Anyone ever try something like this?

Make track mattes in the shape of your letters, then take the video that you want to show and link them to those mattes. Then make the letters zoom using key frames.

Take a look at the tutorial on how to blur or highlight a moving face at this web page. It basically uses the same principles.
