What would you recommend? (obviously that will be pp2 compatible)
I need two
1 middle range one (around 150/300$)
1 high range one (300/600$)

Any suggestions?

Thanxs

I'm using an ATI X800 that was in that range, and it's less card than Adobe recommends, but it works fine. It's within your price range too.

It depends on what your editing. There are fewer cards that Adobe recommends for HD.

I'm editing HD with Cineforms AspectHD and they recomend two cards the nVidia FX540 and the Matrox Parhelia. I'm using the FX540 outputing DVI to a 24" display and outputing component HD to a 42" plasma and it works great.

It also depends on what your plugging it into, both of these cards are PCIe and in the upper of your price range.

There may be more and better cards available since I purchased mine over a year ago.

I'm using a Geforce 7900 GT. Supports Magic Bullet's GPU render function. I can play back a lot of the magic bullet presets at close to real time.

I messed around with some of the .m2t clips from the Canon using the new HDV presets. Editing and playback is very smooth, same as SD except for longer render times for effects.

Yeah, I have to believe either a ATI X1900GT chip'd card or a Geforce 7900GT are probably your best bet. Look to spend somewhere between $220 - $280 for cards in this class but once you get to spending more, you begin to lose a lot of performance per/dollar.

it seems the Geoforce 7900GT is a good option!
I think i will go for that
Thanks to all for the advice!
