So,
I entered a 24 hour film contest, and I was up all night saturday editing on FCP, and in the morning i went to go submit the dvd (It was for a university contest and i turned it in in person). When I came back later that day, the screen wouldn't turn on. I took it to see a Mac Genius and the verdict was that the video cart was fried. Unfortunately the card is sodered directly to the mother board, so that had to get replaced too.
The Cause: Overheating.
Anyhow, i was just curious how common this is, and whether or not anybody has ever had this happen to them? I was using a MacBook Pro.
Luckily it was still under warrenty, so it cost me $0.00
Anyhow, I reccomend any Macbook/Macbook Pro users to buy an external computer fan like this one.
