Vid capture on Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10

Hi, new poster so please bear with me. :undecided

I have just downloaded the free trial of the above.

I have a borrowed Panny HD camcorder that captures on a memory SD card.
My question is can I capture movies from this camera simply by inserting the SD card into a reader?
There doesn't appear to be any info on doing this (Unless I've missed something).

I have only used Pinnacle 9 b/4 this, so it's all new to me. So any beginer's advice etc would be most welcome.

Your not capturing footage from the card, rather, your just doing a basic file transfer.

First transfer the footage from the card onto your harddrive (copy it). Then take the clips on your Harddrive and drag them into the timeline. whether or not vegas supports the codec will be your next issue.
